Improvement in the CHL application??
The DPS is no longer supplying paperwork
for CHL applicants. As always you can apply on line or you have the
option of getting your paperwork from your instructor. They are also
not supplying fingerprint cards and instead are offering for you to get
them done by scanning at some location provided by
L1 Identity Solutions with a fee of $9.95
or have your Instructor do them at your or his cost. All of the paperwork
will have to be paid for by you or the instructors including the large
envelope for them to be mailed in. All of this is to make it easier
on you, according to them, but in reality it is to alleviate the cost of
the paper work on them and place it on you or the instructor as these other
options were available to begin with.
Caldwell County Sheriff's Assn. Turkey Shoot
The Schaefer Training Academy is hosting a Turkey Shoot to benefit the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Association.
The Shoot will be held on April 28, 2012, beginning at 8:00 a.m. Ammunition will be furnished for 20 ga and 12 ga guns. No choke smaller than full choke will be allowed and our choke gauge will be used to determine the actual choke of your shotgun. Relays will consist of ten shooters and there will be one winner in each relay. A shoot-off of all relay winners will be held at the end of the day for the grand prize winner.
Sign up for relays will be $5.00 per shot and you can enter as many times as you wish but only one shot will be allowed for each person in a relay. Winning multiple relays will not qualify you to shoot more than once in the elimination round for the grand prize.
Keep visiting the web site for relay and grand prize information.
Grand Prize will be a Ruger 10/22 given by Mc Brides Guns in Austin.
Help us support the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Association by shooting with us. Donations will also be welcomed.
