The range is now open and available to friends and former students for practice. There are a few changes that have been implemented which I hope are not too restrictive.
The metal targets are to be shot with conventional pistols only. This would include .22 rimfire thru .45 Long Colt cartridges and any caliber Tom approves of on inspection of your firearm.
Rifles can be used on the range but cannot be fired at the metal targets. You have to agree that if you make a mistake and shoot a hole thru one, you will leave collateral payment or property with Tom until you replace the plate with a new, identical armor plate target. The plates and the shipping are expensive and it takes a while to get them here from the manufacturer.
The range is free to use but remember that someone else will have to put back or clean up whatever you don't. There have been many offers for help with labor and monetary contributions to help pay for the damages caused by vandals last year and I have refused them. At the suggestion of many users of the range, there will be a box at the entrance of the range for those who wish to leave donations for range maintenance and upkeep.
